Now That’s Some F****D up Logic

Anyone familiar with the gays is probably familiar with Fred Phelps and his hateful church (made up mainly of his own family at this point). He has a website – you can google for it, I won’t link to it, and he gained noteriety in the 80′s for picketing the funerals of AIDS patients, saying that they deserved the death they got for being gay. He popped back into the scene in the 90′s when he and his haters went to Laramie, Wyoming after Matthew Shepard was murdered. Well, they are at it again.

Now they are picketing and protesting the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq, and here’s a quote about why:

“Shirley Phelps-Roper, a daughter of Fred Phelps and an attorney for the Topeka, Kansas-based church, said neither state laws nor the Patriot Guard can silence their message that God killed the soldiers because they fought for a country that embraces homosexuals.

“The scriptures are crystal clear that when God sets out to punish a nation, it is with the sword. An IED is just a broken-up sword,” Phelps-Roper said. “Since that is his weapon of choice, our forum of choice has got to be a dead soldier’s funeral.”"

A veteran’s group is going to every funeral, and creating a human barrier between them and the soldier’s family.

Cool Quote

“The sooner we understand that nothing is owed to us, that all we have is a gift that we cannot establish a right to, the sooner we will find peace in our souls.” – A. Powell Davies

That, my friends, is why I go to church.
